Kathleen Molero
Staff Veterinarian - Emergency DVM

Education/Training:
  • BSc, Animal Biology with a minor in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, University of Florida
  • DVM, Cornell University
  • Internship, VCA SouthPaws

Special Interests:
I enjoy the challenges and variety that emergency medicine brings. I am especially interested in cardiac and endocrine emergencies, feline obstructive uropathies, and toxicities. I appreciate being able to collaborate with all of my colleagues at VCA SouthPaws to provide the best care for our patients.

Pets:
Over the years, my husband and I have acquired a few dogs with medical issues. There is never a dull moment with Limoncello (Cairn Terrier), Webby (French Bulldog), and Lucy (Cocker Spaniel). We would love to have some cats again but our home seems pretty full right now.

Personal Facts:
I grew up in Miami, FL. I realized while completing my DVM degree in upstate NY that snowy and gloomy winters were not for me. Virginia has offered a nice balance of all four seasons. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, yoga, travel, the arts, and volunteering. I try to include our dogs whenever possible. My husband is also a veterinarian, and we occasionally travel overseas to volunteer at high volume spay/neuter clinics. We also enjoy helping out at a local shelter together when our schedules align.
