Dr. Wang received her Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology with honors from the University of Toronto, and she went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Melbourne in Australia. She completed several exotics animal externships while in vet school, including one here at VCA Wakefield in 2014. Dr. Wang is a Fear Free™ Certified Professional.
Following graduation, Dr. Wang completed a one-year internship at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island, a busy referral hospital where she did rotations in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Avian and Exotics, Ophthalmology, and Dentistry. She was also the primary surgeon for their spay and neuter program.
Dr. Wang is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, and she understands some Cantonese. She is a PADI-certified Open Water Diver, and she enjoys snorkeling, hiking, skydiving, snowboarding, volleyball, travel, baking, and contemporary and surrealist artwork. She lives in the Boston area with her husband, an Australian Kelpie named Nubbin, a chameleon named Dr. Evil, and a tarantula named Gwendaline.
