Dr. Godwin is originally from San Diego, California. She attended Colorado State University for her undergraduate education in zoology. She then went on to veterinary school at Colorado State University where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2025.
Her professional interests include exotics/zoo medicine and oncology. She spoke at a conference in Ghent, Belgium regarding her research in the causes of mortality in companion animal sugar gliders.
She has one miniature Australian shepherd named Stella. In her free time, Dr. Godwin enjoys laying out by the pool, skiing, snowshoeing, attending San Diego Padres baseball games, and napping.
