Mike Corcoran, Head of Exotics Medicine, Board Certified in Reptile/Amphibian Practice, Certified Aquatics Veterinarian

DVM, DABVP (Reptile and Amphibian), CertAqV

Dr. Mike Corcoran is a Specialist in Reptile and Amphibian Practice, and he’s also a Certified Aquatics Veterinarian. Additionally, he has a special interest in birds and small mammals. He provides ultrasound, endoscopic, dental, and surgical services for reptiles, exotic companion mammals, birds, and fish. He is available for pond calls by appointment.

Dr. Corcoran is a 2008 graduate of Washington State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. He joined Wakefield following two years at an exotics-only practice in Mesa, Arizona, and five years at an emergency specialty practice seeing cats, dogs, and exotic species in Vancouver, Washington.

Dr. Corcoran's other great passion is the volunteer work he does as a team leader with World Vets, an international aid group for animals. Twice a year he makes week-long trips to work with large and small animals, as well as wildlife, in such locations as Mexico, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Cambodia, Belize, Honduras, Tanzania, Mongolia, and Haiti.

Dr. Corcoran is learning Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. He and his wife (also a veterinarian) live north of Boston with bearded dragon Button, ball python Jeffrey, clownfish Krusty, cats Amy and Kiska, and dogs Jose and Maya. After leaving arid Arizona in early 2015, they are excited about hiking, cycling, kayaking, skiing, playing soccer, and going to Boston Breakers and New England Revolution games in New England.
