Dr. Alexandra Prado is originally from Tampa, Florida. Although she loved the sun and the beaches, she began traveling north. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and received her veterinary degree from Cornell University. While in school, she joined a lab to research the reproductive mechanisms of the Naked-mole rat. Dr. Prado also conducted research with the Jane Goodall Institute in the Republic of Congo on chimpanzee rehabilitation and re-introduction back into the wild.
After all those years on the east coast, Dr. Prado is excited to be out west and join the VCA Alameda East team! She loves running, hiking, and finding the best breweries in town.
