Dr. Stacey Sullivan received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from North Carolina State University in 1993. She moved to Auburn University for her internship, followed by a residency in neurology and neurosurgery at the University of Georgia.
Dr. Sullivan became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Neurology) in 1998 and went into private referral practice in New England.
She returned to North Carolina State University in 2002, where she spent three and a half years as an assistant professor of neurology and neurosurgery. Her professional interests include encephalitis, seizures, and neurosurgery. Dr. Sullivan is a member of the ACVIM Neurology Exam Committee and is one of only four neurologists that prepares and administers the national certifying neurology examination.
In 2004 and 2006, Dr. Sullivan was a member of the two-person ACVIM taskforce that organized a two-week-long international Short Course in Neuroscience for budding neurologists.

She is the author of scientific papers and book chapters, and she lectures at numerous continuing education programs throughout the country. She has played an integral role in the training of more than a dozen neurology and surgery residents, as well as many students, interns, and visiting veterinarians.
Dr. Sullivan lives in the Los Angeles suburbs with her husband and dachshund. When not at the hospital, she is frequently found sailing the waters of Southern California in her sailboat. She also enjoys working in her garden and traveling.
