Dr. Mikayla Schroeder is a proud Colorado native from Franktown. She left the state to follow her love of veterinary medicine and pursue her surgical residency, but is thrilled to be back home in the state that she loves. She attended undergraduate school in Helena, Montana and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota. After graduating from vet school, she completed a one-year rotating internship in Los Angeles at the Animal Specialty and Emergency Center followed by a Surgical Oncology specialty internship at the University of Missouri which further developed her interest and skill in oncologic surgery. Dr. Schroeder completed her surgical residency at Cornell University.
Outside of the hospital, she can be found riding and jumping her warmblood horses or in the mountains with her yellow Labrador. When she's not in the arena, barn or on a trail ride with her mom, Dr. Schroeder loves to mountain bike and travel.
