Trina Hazzah, Veterinary Specialist - Medical Oncology & Integrative Oncology

DVM, DACVIM (Oncology), CVCH

Integrative Medicine, Oncology

Trina Hazzah was born and raised in Washington DC. She attended Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She completed her small animal internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey and a 3-year residency in medical oncology at the Veterinary Oncology and Hematology Center, in Connecticut. She has also completed the requirements to be a Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist.

Dr. Hazzah's area of interest is Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) and offers a novel approach to veterinary cancer therapy by combining conventional Western therapies with complementary Eastern therapies to provide a "whole patient” treatment approach. The goal of combining Eastern and Western therapies is to better support the immune system, decrease side effects from cancer or cancer-related treatments (chemotherapy or radiation therapy), enhance quality of life, and improve survival for the cancer patient.

Dr. Hazzah feels that quality of life is an essential priority in the treatment of her cancer patients and strives to find a perfect balance between effective treatment and maintaining patient comfort.

In addition to conventional oncology consultations, Dr. Hazzah offers integrative oncology consultations for clients who are interested in treating their pet with integrative and alternative medicine.

In her free time, she enjoys riding her motorcycle, playing tennis, basketball and traveling. She is a proud owner of two special 4-legged kids named Mr. Bean and Harold.
