A California native, Dr. Harnagel attended the University of California, Davis, where he received a bachelor's degree in zoology in 1976 and a doctor of veterinary medicine in 1980. After a stint as a large animal practitioner, he returned to Davis for a radiology residency from 1984 to 1987. Dr. Harnagel became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology in 1987. Dr. Harnagel has been working with VCA Loomis Basin Veterinary Clinic since 1988 and is a member of Veterinary Medical Imaging.
Dr. Harnagel enjoys many activities with his family, including spending time with his border collies, wine grape growing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, fly fishing, photography, and playing the guitar.
