Dr. Breanna Uyeno earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Microbiology and Animal Science from Colorado State University before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Iowa State University. She is also pursuing a Master of Public Health degree at the University of Iowa, reflecting her passion for the connection between animal, human, and environmental health.
Originally from La Habra Heights, California, Dr. Uyeno is driven by a strong interest in One Health initiatives and collaborative approaches to improving the well-being of both animals and people. Her professional interests include internal medicine, emergency and critical care, and the many ways veterinary medicine can contribute to public health.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Uyeno enjoys spending time outdoors whenever possible. She loves training and adventuring with her dog, camping, visiting the beach, and exploring nature. She shares her home with Titi, her Manchester Terrier, and Vhagar, her cat, who are always happy to join her in life's adventures.
