Dr. Scott Haemker brings a uniquely diverse health care background to veterinary medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Physiological Sciences from UCLA before attending the Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health, where he trained as a registered nurse. After working in human healthcare, he transitioned into veterinary medicine, becoming a certified veterinary technician through on-the-job training before earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from University College Dublin in Ireland.
Originally from Tarzana, California, Dr. Haemker has a wide range of professional interests, including general practice, emergency medicine, anesthesia, diagnostic imaging, and neurology. His varied experience across both human and veterinary health care has shaped his thoughtful approach to patient care and his commitment to supporting pets and their families through every stage of treatment.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Haemker enjoys spending time with Diana, his Shih Tzu-Yorkie mix. He's also a devoted fan of One Piece and loves collecting trading cards from the series, so don't hesitate to strike up a conversation about your favorite characters or story arcs.
